Hola Amigos, Hello Friends! Spanish Class for Pre-K to K students @ Your local public library! Taught by Children Outreach librarians, Cara Stonestreet & Patricia Bowie

Come visit us at the PD Brown library branch in Waldorf for Spanish Class every third Saturday of the month (its free & no signup is necessary). We encourage families to come on in to learn a new language through songs, bilingual stories and crafts that reinforce what they have just learned. These are pictures of our July 30th, 2010 22nd annual Library Night at Regency stadium in Waldorf.  There were approximately 9,000 eager readers and family members involved in the regional Summer Reading program. Each participant enjoyed one free lawn seat to the game and proudly paraded around the infield. We handed out school pencils and library coloring books promoting science and environmental consciousness-- needless to say, it was a blast!

“Children are like a perennial garden, no two are alike.  Tend to them with great patience; nurture them with tender care and love. Pruning will allow them, in due season to flourish into their own magnificent beauty.”

Children must be taught how to think, not what to think.
-Margaret Mead

The relationship of parent and child... remains indelible and indestructible, the strongest relationship on earth.

-Theodor Reik
